1. What is the difference between Wordly Wise and Wordly Wise 3000™ 2nd Edition?

2. What storybooks and workbooks can I use after Primary Phonics?
Storybooks to read after completing the Primary Phonics series are Let's Read 6, 7, 8, and 9; Success Stories 1 and 2; and the MTA Readers 3, 4, 5, and 6. If students are ready for non-phonetically controlled chapter books, the Next Stop books are a good choice. The Early Reading Comprehension series is also a good fit if your students are ready for a comprehension strand. Explode The Code and Beyond The Code are also good choices for reinforcing the phonetic concepts from Primary Phonics and introducing a comprehension component.

3. Is the number on the book the same as the grade level?
The number on a book is not the grade level. It is simply the number of the book within a series. Grade levels are provided at the top of each series and book description that we offer online and in the pricing tables at the bottom of the descriptions. These are suggested grade levels only.

Teachers, tutors, and parents all know that students vary: what is appropriate for one second grader might not be appropriate for another. Our grade-level suggestions are intended for teachers to use as general guidelines; for further information, we recommend calling Customer Service at 800.225.5750.

4. Some books within a series have overlapping grade level suggestions. How do I know which book is appropriate for my student?
When a series contains books with overlapping grade levels, the best way to decide which book is appropriate for your student is to call Customer Service (800.225.5750) and we'll be glad to discuss the books you are interested in with you.

You can also use the search function on the left to find information on a specific series and each book within that series, which may help to answer your question. You can also view our list of sample lessons from various series that are ready to use with your students—you may find lessons from the series you are interested in that will allow you to see which book is appropriate for you. Finally, you can view our list of Program Overviews that offer in-depth information and sample pages from selected series.

And remember that if you order a book that turns out to be too easy or too hard, you may return it for full credit. Click here to view our return policy.

5. Do I need the Answer Key or Teacher’s Guide that accompanies some EPS books?
The choice to purchase a Teacher’s Guide or Answer Key is entirely individual. Often, customers opt to purchase the Answer Key to save them the time involved in having to complete the exercises or to have as a reference for teacher’s assistants or student graders. Teachers’ Guides provide useful information about the program's rationale and often offer instructional information, page-by-page guides, and tips for extension activities. You can use the search function on the left to find information on a the Teachers’ Guides and Answer Keys available for each series, which may help you make your decision. Additionally, our customer service representatives (800.225.5750) can give you more information on what each Guide or Key contains and help you make an informed choice.

6. Which EPS materials for students with learning differences require special training?
We recommend formal training for the Gillingham Manual, Slingerland, Alphabetic Phonics, the Multisensory Teaching Approach (MTA), the Association Method, Dyslexia Training Program, and the Literacy Program. To get more information on training for each program, you can call Customer Service at 800.225.5750 or use the contact information below.
